The main objective of the project is to strengthen central and local capacities for the best possible management of the Kune-Vain lagoon, taking into consideration the impact of climate change, erosion problems, threats to fauna and flora. The project also aims to develop some measures based on the ecosystem in the lagoon.

The components of the project are:

  • Technical and institutional capacities to address climate change risks through ecosystem adaptation (EbA);
  • Concrete interventions in the lagoon to make possible: 1. Sediment reduction, 2. Dune rehabilitation, 3. Flood prevention, 4. Protection and restoration of the basin.
  • Awareness and familiarity with the values of the Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) system
